Here I am with the brilliant John Burns alongside the mythical Shahinian Diapason speaker.
This was taken after a refreshing walk on the Northumberland coast which really helped after a late night listening to a lot of great music from John’s vinyl collection.
The rest of the system was classic Pear Audio, a gorgeous Well Tempered Versalex turntable fitted with the latest Symmetrix arm tube, the ultimate Dynavector Dr T cartridge and the amazing Dynavector amps (a pair of HX100’s)
Simply one of the most musically enjoyable systems ever.
Here’s a pic of the fabulous system that Renaissance Audio put together for the Classic Album Sunday at ‘Loud and Clear’ in Edinburgh last weekend.
The lovely guys and girls at L&C even managed to rope me into doing the presentation of that weekend’s recording – ‘Rumours’ by Fleetwood Mac.
Suffice to say, the music was superb (and the presentation wasn’t bad either !)
The sound was so good, we decided that this actual system will form the main playback for the CAS room at the National Audio Show (Whittlebury, 21-22 Sept) along with the wonderful ProAc K6 speakers.
Sonata will be supporting CAS’s Colleen Murphy at the show with the help of Loud & Clear and Renaissance Audio.
Drop in and hear this stunning system playing some of the greatest Classic Albums.
Me and Evie look forward to seeing you there.

Phew, what a fantastic day we had at this year’s summer Independent Label Market.
The glorious (for once) weather brought out music lovers in their droves, who happily made the pilgrimage over to join the other hipsters in London’s uber-cool east end.
Vinyl was definitely the order of the day, which quite frankly is now the norm. Forget this ‘vinyl revival’ media rubbish – that’s just old news, vinyl is here to stay and getting healthier all the time !
We were stunned by the interest we had on our stall with Rega, I didn’t get a break all day and time just flew by.
It’s really wonderful to be able to talk to so many young and enthusiastic people about the joy of turntables.
Looking forward to the next one in November…. mulled wine instead of cup cakes ???
We’re loving this gorgeous weather and hoping that it stays like this till Saturday 13th July because we’ll be out and about in Spitalfields at the ILM.
Lots of hip record labels showing off their wares on numerous market stalls as well as our good friends from Rega.
What better way to play your new indie vinyl on than a fine British turntable !
We’ll be helping out by manning the Rega stall and doing our bit to promote Rega’s superb hi-fi gear.
So, come over to the trendy East End, grab some vinyl and say hello.
Here we are, pictured with our lucky prize winner at the Sister Ray shop in Soho.
We’re so pleased that the lovely Rega turntable will be going to a good home so, congratulations to Sonja Amoretti from North London who queued up from the early hours of the morning on Record Store Day.
Pictured with Sonja are Rob and Yvonne from Sonata as well as Phil Barton, owner of Sister Ray.
A big thank-you to all at Sister Ray from everyone at Sonata and Rega, we’re already looking forward to RSD 2014 !
Here’s the flyer for our upcoming Record Store Day Prize Draw – Win a Rega Turntable.
We’ll be hanging out at Sister Ray’s in Soho helping to promote the joys of spinning vinyl on our wonderful Rega turntables.
Hopefully, our colourful Rega window display will cheer you up as you queue for those precious special releases on the 20th April.
Entertainment will also be provided by a host of great bands that Sister Ray are putting on in the street outside the shop.
For more details see www.sisterray.co.uk
Once you get inside the shop (which might take a while…) make sure you remember to post your entry there for a chance to win a Rega turntable.
What better way to enjoy your RSD purchases !
Here’s a shot from the recent BBC documentary ‘When Albums Ruled The World’.
Rob acted as the Audio Consultant for the production team.
The legendary rock star in the photo can be seen holding Rob’s copy of ‘Never Mind the Bollocks’ as the record spins on Sonata’s Rega RP6 with a Dynavector Cartridge.
